Industrial Engineering

2 days

Designing continuous improvement and industrial efficiency

course code 3.5

What is the course for

#1

Understand the impact of the roles and responsibilities of industrial engineering on the company

#2

Acquire the methodology to pre-determine standard production time

#3

Learn how to analyse and develop product improvement proposals to reduce the implementation costs

Despite the high level of automation and digitalisation we are increasingly experiencing within our businesses, there is a vast amount of specialised technical skill lost on how production processes really work and on why our products are made in certain ways and with set costs. This happens because we often simply trust the “oral tradition” or changing technology providers, as well as organisational forms that have been depleting manpower in key roles for some time. In such situations it is always difficult to understand where and how to intervene when it comes to improving production levels, efficiency and costs. As such, it is important to provide the ability to design, measure and internally standardise manufacturing methods back to companies. Such skills are also needed when tackling any Lean Transformation journey in order to provide a productive workforce with robust methodological support in identifying waste and evaluating the degree of any potential advantages.

What are the main benefits of the Lenovys Industrial Engineering course?  The ability to determine the costs and timing of all production-related activities; the ability to independently design the organisation of labour (layout, sequence and subdivision of activities, equipment, material flow) in order to ensure that corporate targets for quality, costs and time-lines are met. These two outcomes guarantee on the one hand the ability to independently plan for continual improvement and industrial efficiency, and on the other, the professional leadership and negotiation skills for dealing with machinery, equipment and automation suppliers.
